Growing Lavender and Community on the Sequim Prairie: A How-to and History

The Laughing Lavender Field

A children’s coloring book, 24 pp. Story by Sequim resident Troye Jarmuth, illustrations by Elaine Diedrich. On the night before the Lavender Festival, the sound of crying on the air upsets a calico cat and a family of moles. Between tears and sniffles, three young lavender plants tell their very sad story. Who will help them? Will the plants be unhappy forever? This story celebrates teamwork, love and laughter. Proceeds from book sales benefit the Sequim Community Foundation and the Sequim Lavender Growers Association, both local nonprofit organizations that put resources back into the community.
