10th Annual Sequim Lavender Festival™ to draw visitors from around the world!
The 10th Annual Sequim Lavender Festival™ will play host to visitors from around the world again this year on Friday, July 14 - Sunday, July 16, 2006.
Last year’s attendees came to Sequim, Lavender Capital of North America, from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 55 countries located on 6 continents. The countries represented include Argentina, Ascension Island, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chad, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubayy, Ecuador, England, Fiji, Finland, France, French Polynesia, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Guatamala, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kerguelen Islands, Latvia, Libya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Peurto Rico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweeden, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, Uraguay, Wake Island, and Zambia.
The Sequim Lavender Festival draws more than 30,000 visitors to the Sequim-Dungeness valley to take part in the festivities. For the 10th anniversary there will be many new programs including the addition of an 8th farm to the tour, daily “Meet the Farmer’s” talks at each farm, a history of Sequim Lavender Growers Association, and a partnership with the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Show with displays, demonstrations, and hands on activities for the whole family.
At the Festival, the eight Farms on Tour open their fields to visitors, each offering lavender-centered activities, demonstrations, music, food, and more. Admission to the Farms on Tour is $10, with no charge for children 12 and under. The Street Fair in downtown Sequim offers more than 150 craftspeople and vendors of lavender, musical entertainment, great foods and wine tasting. There is no admission charge to the street fair. Free parking is available in Sequim and at each of the farms and a free shuttle bus service connects the entire festival.
