Sequim Lavender Festival
Visit Sequim, Washington, the Lavender Capital of North America® to celebrate the 13th annual Sequim Lavender Festival, Friday, July 17 - Sunday, July 19, 2009, sponsored by the Sequim Lavender Growers Association. With Seven Farms on Tour and one fantastic Street Fair, it is like Eight Festivals in One.
The Sequim Lavender Festival is the premier celebration of the joys of lavender and the largest lavender festival in North America. Sequim is located on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula, cradled in the “rain shadow” of the Olympic Mountains and Olympic National Park. The Sequim-Dungeness Valley has an ideal microclimate for growing lavender and with less than 20 inches of rain per year, the area is similar to the Provence region of France. Because of the unique conditions and dedicated farmers, Sequim lavender has received world-wide recognition for its superior quality and fragrance. Our farmers have over 200 years of combined experience cultivating lavender, developing the best planting and growing practices, and creating lavender products
The Seven Farms on Tour invites visitors to experience the fragrance and splendor of this amazing herb. Each farm is distinctive, reflecting the vision of its owner and the surrounding environment.
The Street Fair, in downtown Sequim, is “Lavender Central,” featuring more than 120 juried booths plus premier lavender and lavender products offered by members of the Sequim Lavender Growers Association. Local foods, wines, family activities, community programs and live music add to the festivities. Admission to the Street Fair is free
Tickets are $15 and provide admission to all of the Eight Farms on Tour, with children 12 and under admitted free. There is a $5 discount for all active military and their families.
