Bronn Journey: Over thirty years ago, a volunteer with the Seattle Public Schools placed a harp in Bronn’s hands for the first time and began teaching the 11 year old boy how to play. By the time he was 16, he was performing professionally in fine hotels and restaurants in the Seattle area. Today, Bronn’s musical accomplishments are known and appreciated throughout Washington State and the Northwest. His amazing versatility and humorous approach to a seriously classical instrument have made him a favorite with concert goers. “Because of the experience of playing in a variety of settings, I am very comfortable playing in many different styles,” comments Bronn, and his concert selections range from classical to Broadway to hymns. Bronn has even played the National Anthem at Seattle Seahawk and Sonics games!

Cost is $60.00 per person. This event is intended for adults. Seating is limited.

Chef Dave Long
Dave Long took an interest in food at an early age. As an avid eater, it became apparent that being able to cook would be an asset. Helping his mother & grandmothers prepare food for the family table was a sure way to get a taste of everything, and learn a little about food. This inspired Dave to enter South Seattle Community College, and upon graduating, he cut his chops in some of Seattle's finest restaurants and hotels, alongside several noted chefs, such as Caprial Pence, at Fullers, Jerry Traunfeld, at the Alexis Hotel, and Rip Ripley, at the Greenlake Grill. Then he traveled north to Bellingham where he worked as executive chef for Rhododendron Cafe, Chuckanut Bay Catering and Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club. The beauty of the Olympic Peninsula called Dave back to open and manage the Port Angeles Brewing Company. When the business sold, Dave started teaching culinary arts for the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center, where he inspired several students to choose a career in culinary arts, and founded Oven Spoonful with catering, chef services, and cooking classes

Steve McNabb
Steve McNabb is a former student of the Port Angeles Skills Center.  Steve grew up working with many local chefs, worked in Seattle restaurants, and last season was Executive Chef at the Saltery Lodge, one of Southeast Alaska's newest and most exclusive fishing lodges.

Interesting Note about the John Wayne Marina:
John Wayne Marina (Google Map), featured in the June 2003 issue of SEA Magazine as “Best of the West” for small marinas, was constructed in 1985 on 22 acres of land donated by the John Wayne family. John Wayne frequented Sequim Bay waters aboard the family yacht – the “Wild Goose” – and prior to his death envisioned a marina in the scenic bay. Eventually, this vision became reality under the ownership and auspices of the Port of Port Angeles.

By Willy Russell

The heroine in this actor's tour de force is an ordinary middle class English housewife. As she prepares chips and egg for dinner, she ruminates on her life and tells the wall about her husband, her children, her past, and an invitation from a girlfriend to join her on holiday in Greece to search for romance and adventure. Ultimately, Shirley does escape to Greece, has an "adventure" with a local fisherman and decides to stay. This hilariously engaging play was a hit in London and New York.

"Absolutely smashing."-New York Post
"A joyful, captivating piece of theatre."-New York Daily News

Lavender celebration Tour of Wineries In the Olympic Wine Country

Saturday, July 10– Sunday, July 18, 11-5 p.m.

Enjoy the Sequim lavender fields in bloom and enhance your visit as you discover new hidden gems - seven award winning artisan wineries on the scenic North Olympic Peninsula. Explore more hidden back roads and lush valleys as you discover some of the finest small family run wineries in Washington State. Since most produce less than 2,000 cases of wine a year, many of the wines are in very limited production and are challenging to find outside of the communities where they are made. Indulge in the pleasure of sharing these rare wines of Washington State with your friends and family.
It is easy to add this self guided wine tour to your Lavender Festival experience. You can visit the wineries in any order, over a ten-day period. Visit as many or as few as you wish or purchase an optional Lavender Celebration Tour of Wineries ticket and the commemorative wine glass and receive complimentary wine tasting at each winery.
Visit all seven wineries and enter the drawing for a beautiful gift basket of local lavender products. Each winery is unique from location to ambiance of tasting room and style of wines. Winemakers will offer special pricing on featured wines.
You can also taste our local wines at the Wine & Beer Garden at the Street Fair in Sequim during the Lavender Festival, which can be found at the end of the food court, close to the performance stage. A selection of two wines from each winery will be available for tasting, by the glass or to purchase by the bottle.

We look forward to sharing our wines. Purchase your ticket on-line or at any winery.  Cost is $25.00 (discount with the purchase of a farm tour button) http://www.olympicpeninsulawineries.org/lavendertour.php
