** We are excited to announce the winner of our 2020 Festival Art Contest –  Julie Peterson! **

As a student, I loved all my art classes.  I didn’t have the money for extended education,  but I continued my art after graduating high school, by being self taught (along with a lot of practice).  I began my life time goal as a full time artist in 1996.

I have had a wonderful career showing and selling my work in states as far away as Oklahoma.  I now reside in East Wenatchee WA.  I love living and playing in the central Washington area.

I paint landscapes and wildlife.  My medium is in Oil on canvas, linen and hardboard.  My style is defined as Traditional Realism. I’m asked often if my artwork is a photograph.  People often say they could just walk into the scene, because it has a three dimensional appearance.

Each piece of work has many hours devoting layers of paint which gives each piece its intense rich brilliant color.  I enjoy painting subjects that surround us in the great state of Washington.  I’m exploring more with Plein Air. I create challenges and new endeavors that keep me excited about what I do.

Conversations with customers are about one similar question “where did this piece inspire you?”.  I like to be able to have a story behind every piece of art. I spend a lot of time exploring the areas that I paint.  I spend hours and sometimes days photo shooting an area. Photo reference works well for me when I’m in the studio sketching the next composition to paint.

The ability to be creative and share what I do with others is a great privilege and honor that makes me very happy.

Gicle’e Art Prints

Gicle’e (pronounced “Zhee-Clay”)  is a French word that means to spay or squirt liquid.  Gicle’e art reproductions are produced from high resolution digital scanner and printed with archival quality inks (Epson Ultra Chrome K3 Inks)  onto various mediums. The gicle’e printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproductions. Gicle’e canvas art is widely praised for its exceptional quality by artists.  The museum quality of these reproductions is sure to give anyone the prestige and satisfaction of a serious art collector. The natural texture of the canvas gives the look and feel of an original oil painting.
